About Alli’s Journey
Alli’s Journey is a non-profit, charitable organization that was created by a young woman named Alli Shapiro Amar. She was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 19. While enduring 7 years of treatment, Alli and her mother, Pam Shainhouse, noticed the lack of resources for young adults with cancer and were determined to do something about it. MISSION
Alli’s Journey is determined to raise money for the young adult cancer population, ages 18-35. We strive to support the courageous young people who are battling the disease by supporting research specific to the cancers that target this population. We also support various community resources that provide critical care, counseling and assistance to young adults who are fighting the disease. We are determined to let young people know that the community cares about their fight.
Each year, Alli’s Journey puts on a night of musical celebration entitled TAKE MY HAND. Proceeds from this magical night of courage and strength go to fund Alli’s Journey projects. Join us this year to feel the spirit and heart alive within our supporters! Click here to read more about TAKE MY HAND. This year, TAKE MY HAND is on June 9, 2010!
Since its launch in 2006, Alli’s Journey supporters have grown and we are thrilled to continue supporting the young adult cancer community in any way we can. You can read more about the projects Alli’s Journey has supported here.
