This walk is in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada and helps raise awareness and create support for ovarian cancer patients and their family and friends. Elizabeth Manley, Canadian Olympic silver medalist in figure skating, is the new spokesperson for the walk and sadly lost her mother to the disease. These traits are inherent to every young adult battling cancer. Alli Shapiro, founder of Alli's journey embodied just that; courage and strength in her seven year fight with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and heart as she lived with this disease using humour, humility and belief as her strongest weapons. Alli was determined to move from a cancer fighter to a cancer survivor.
Unfortunately, Alli lost her battle.
Alli's Journey will live on, so that young adults with cancer will have a charity to call "home".
